“Colby” (Joe-Colby Ray Langston) is a proud lifelong Mississippian, and has lived throughout the State, including in Booneville where he grew up, in Jackson while completing three degrees, on the Mississippi Coast while operating the Langston & Weems Law Firm from 2017 to 2024, and now again in North Mississippi since joining Langston & Lott.

Colby graduated from Booneville High School, a public school located in Prentiss County, Mississippi. He then enrolled at Millsaps College where he received a B.S. in Public Management in 2010. Colby played for the Millsaps Majors football team, and is proud to have won four consecutive conference championships while playing linebacker. He then attended the Millsaps Else School of Management and earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2011. After receiving his MBA, Colby obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law in 2014 during which time he interned with the Mississippi Attorney General.

Colby is licensed and practicing in all Mississippi state and federal courts. He is a member of the Mississippi Bar, and has successfully handled and tried cases to verdict in City Courts, Municipal Courts, County Courts, Chancery Courts, Circuit Courts, and Federal Court. He has also represented individuals in criminal and family law cases, although his primary focus now is on injury and negligence cases.

In college and graduate schools, Colby studied law, business, economics, and political science providing him with a unique outlook and set of skills he employs to evaluate and litigate cases for clients.

Colby proudly serves on the board of the Mississippi Lawyers and Judges Assistance Committee which focuses on attorney mental health, well-being, and substance abuse. He also serves of the Board of the Law Practice Management and Technology Committee. Recently, Colby graduated as a member of the 2023-2024 Leadership Mississippi Bar Class. Colby is a 2021-2025 Mississippi Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff Lawyer according to the National Trial Lawyer Association.

Colby is married to his wife, Jessica Langston, and they have a son, and daughter.

When not counseling clients, Colby enjoys fishing, watching sports, exploring outdoors, and eating Mississippi cuisine.
