Recent reports have linked the semaglutide medications Mounjaro, Wegovy, and Ozempic to cases of severe gastrointestinal problems, such as stomach paralysis as well as persistent vomiting, nausea and diarrhea. Lawsuits have been filed against Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly and Co, manufacturers of diabetes and weight loss drugs Ozempic and Mounjaro, respectively. With multiple patients coming forward who experienced severe gastroparesis, or “paralyzed stomachs”, there is an ongoing investigation into lack of adequate safety warnings from these drug manufacturers.
